Travel guarantee

If we are responsible for you being more than 20 minutes late.

With the FynBus Travel Guarantee, you can take a taxi, your own car, rent an e-bike or scooter and FynBus will refund the charges, if you experience one of the following situations:

  • If the bus is delayed by more than 20 minutes
  • If the bus left the bus stop before the appointed time on the timetable
  • If the bus passes you without stopping and there is more than 20 minutes until the next departure
  • If your first bus is delayed and you are unable to catch your next bus. The buses must stop at the same stop/terminal and there must be at least 5 minutes between arrival and departure of the buses according to the timetable.
  • If you need the bus's electric ramp to board the bus, but it's not working.

FynBus Travel Guarantee only applies to the part of the journey you make with FynBus. That is, if your bus is delayed with more than 20 minutes, and you are unable to catch your train, FynBus will only cover the taxi to the train station, and not the journey onwards to for example Copenhagen.

Fill out this refund form - select "Write us" and "Travel Guarantee", if you want to use of the FynBus Travel Guarantee.

When does the Travel Guarantee not apply?

You cannot use the FynBus Travel Guarantee in the following situations:

  • In case FynBus does not have a realistic chance of keeping the timetable, for instance in case of extreme weather conditions (snow, ice storm, heavy wind etc.)

  • In case of stoppage
  • In case FynBus on the website and possibly in local media has announced possible delays on one or more routes at least 24 hours before. Further, if FynBus has changed the timetable and has announced this.

  • If you are late to or from other ways of transportation. The Travel Guarantee only applies to travels by FynBus and not to other parts of a journey made by another transport company, flight or ferry.
That means if your bus is more than 20 minutes delayed and because of this you will not be able to catch your train, FynBus only pays the taxi to the train station, not the further travel to for instance Copenhagen.
  • If you as a group of at least 15 persons has not given notice about your journey as to Travel regulations for group journeys (in Danish).

How to use the FynBus Travel Guarantee

Check whether the conditions for the Travel Guarantee are met. Remember the time, place and route number. If necessary, write it down.

Please fill out the refund form and forward it to FynBus no later than 2 weeks after your journey. Remember to forward the receipt as documentation that you have taken a taxi, shared bicycle or scooter.

Once we have received your request for a refund, we investigate whether the conditions are met. If they are, we will deposit the money into your Nem account within a week.

Call for a taxi. Pay for your taxi - and remember to get a receipt. FynBus provides reimbursement for up to DKK 350.

Take your own car and drive to your destination, where the bus or Odense Light Rail should have taken you.

FynBus covers reimbursement up to 50 km. The rate in 2024 is DKK 2.23 per km.

When you apply for a refund, you must state the stop where the bus/light rail should have departed from and your destination address, so that FynBus can verify that your trip stays within the prescribed maximum of 50 km.

Find a shared scooter or bike and ride to your destination.

In order for FynBus to pay out a refund, you must attach a receipt that states the trip's starting point, ending point, distance, time, number of minutes and the amount in Danish kroner.
